About Awakened Classes

Hello Everyone,

As we approach today’s massive patch, we want to take a moment to pull back the curtain and talk directly to you about the future of Eden Reforged. From day one, our mission has never been to simply copy-paste the original Eden Eternal experience, but to propose a different, more balanced, and long-lasting journey.

When we launched a year ago, the vanilla classes went through a thorough review. Some found the spotlight more than others, which is natural, but it set the foundation for what our server is today. Now, we face our biggest challenge yet: the arrival of Awakened Classes.

In the original game, Awakened classes were introduced with overwhelming power—not just in raw damage, but with overpowered effects and crowd control that ignored immunities, making PvE content trivial and leaving PvP in a lamentable state. (And yes, we recognize that our current PvP system needs extra love and care, even with vanilla classes).

Because of this history, we made a definitive choice: Awakened classes in Eden Reforged will follow entirely different rules.

They are being introduced as gameplay alternatives, not upgrades. Our goal is to bring them down to a healthy baseline where they coexist with classic classes, ensuring vanilla builds are not abandoned or completely overshadowed. Balancing 40 classes around this concept is a monumental task. Things will not be perfect right out of the gate, and we won't please everyone immediately.

Going forward, class balancing will be a continuous, active process. Some Awakened classes might underperform, while others might turn out much stronger than anticipated. Please keep this in mind: we will adjust and nerf any class that performs completely out of bounds. If you invest in a class purely because it feels "broken," you do so with the prior warning that balance changes can and will happen.

Community FAQ: Clearing the Confusion

Where is the "yellow" class?

It is coming, but it will be released next week. Due to tight schedules and sudden technical hurdles, it needed a bit more time in the oven. We can already confirm that this missing class is the Shielder.

Will only the classes shown in the teasers be released today?

Yes. The four classes featured in the teasers will be unlocked in today's patch (May 25th): Rakshasa, Reaver, Druid, and Stormcaster.

Is there an estimated arrival date for the remaining classes?

Aside from the Shielder next week, there is currently no fixed schedule for the remaining classes.

Am I forced to play an Awakened class to remain competitive?

No. As stated in our philosophy above, these are meant to expand your options and offer new playstyles, not to act as mandatory upgrades that replace classic classes.

How do we unlock them?

We have created brand-new Chain Quests for each individual class. Exact details will be provided in the official Patch Notes later today, but we can tell you right now: they are completely different from the original quests.

I noticed there is no Glyph information on the Awakened class pages. Will they not have Glyphs?

They will not have Glyphs at launch. We plan to introduce them in a future update once the initial class performance stabilizes, ensuring their Glyphs are properly balanced alongside the classic ones.

Will I have to level them up from Level 1?

No. Just like the original game, once unlocked, they will immediately start at Level 80.

Will future classes always be released in batches of five?

That is our ideal plan—releasing them in groups of five, representing one archetype color each. However, this heavily depends on development workflow. Some future classes only need minor tweaks, while others require a complete identity restructuring and a total conceptual rework.
